Open until 19th February 2010 Jászy Gallery started a program supporting young artists. Rebeka Lengyel's exhibition was held as part
of this program in February 2010. The artist
says the following about her artistic ambitions:
The theme of my latest works is cats, and everything they mean to me; the perfect figure, mysterious, inexplicable character behind the
soft "ornament" and the intimate relationship
with them. I adore their divine features, the fingerprints of their creator.
I am trying to capture the extraordinary, beautiful shape, their playful gracious curves as I see and experience them. I hope the secret behind all this becomes clear to everybody. There are incredible feelings, The voices are silent in the poems and in the pictures.
Cats are silent, monotonic, calming, purring, mewing, growling – deep flow of music which stops unnoticed and fades in silence— these are their charm and secret.
